Details

Inspired by P.S.Kroyer's painting "Summer Evening on Skagen's Southern Beach" where two women take an evening stroll along the beach during the blue hour. The time of day where the sun is below the horizon casting a deep blue hue in the sky and reflected in the water. The sky and water seem to become one. This dresser/sideboard captures the painting by Kroyer with hues of hand painted milk paint in buttermilk white, grey blue, sea green and hints of golden yellow. A rich texture finish has been created on the case giving the look of a cherished heirloom and the ripples of gentle waves on the water. The hardware is original to the piece which has been painted in grey blue. The entire piece has been hand waxed. Six of the nine drawer glides have been replaced.

About Seller

In 2021 I traded in my stethoscope for a paint brush. I had been working for my sister and brother-in-law's store , on the side, refinishing Danish modern furniture. This was on a very part time basis. I decided to resign from my nursing position and work for them exclusively. It gives me the opportunity to work on amazing pieces of furniture and to work for two amazing people. Then why am I selling my own refinished furniture while working at a job that makes me happy? Because my sister gave me a side table she had found from a local thrift store for me to paint, wanting me to spread my wings even more. So, I will be doing both. What joy! A word that sums up my design style is eclectic from the cottagey style of crisp white linens and cabbage roses to over the top regal with rich velvets and brocades. You will see that in the finishes that I create. I like it all. Part of the Redeemed Pieces mission is to donate a portion of sales to Venture.org and to Crescent Cove. Thank you for visiting, Wendi
