We purchased the vintage frame from a private party after examining it for structural soundness. The base did not have a deck nor did it have upholstery. We thoroughly cleaned and prepped the piece for a laborious eight step hand finish process which includes painting, texturing, glazing, applying boule, gilding, waxing and buffing. This piece is specifically designed to look “antiqued”. The piece is textured as can be seen in the pictures and the gilding rubbed off here and there to expose the boule. Our upholsterer build a new wood deck for the seat and reupholstered with a baby cheetah fabric we had. This is a stunning piece of furniture that has been rescued, restored, restyled and given a new life. This is a piece of furniture which should be cherished and passed down to family members in the future. This piece of furniture sits firmly and can be used as extra seating, is firm enough and flat enough to hold a tray with beverages or can be a nice footstool.
