About Seller

"Art is not what you see, but what you make others see'' - Edgar Degas... Palm Beach based furniture and interior finish artist, Lyonella Cook, has been honing her skills in painting for the past several years. She specializes in restoring, reinventing and breathing new life into European Furniture. Her favored medium, authentic French & Italian Milkpaints. Originally, a construction engineer with a BS in Construction, Lyonella has blended her education into her art form, bringing about the perfect marriage of creating! Her deep affection for antiques and vintage furnishings is evident in her work. Antiques bestow unpretentious charm, a sense of history, a connection to the past that no assembly line piece could make you feel...it is the grounding element that will make your house a home. Lyonella is of Spanish and Italian decent, born in the UK to U.S. airmen parents. She served in the U.S. Army and participated in a study abroad in college which afforded her opportunity to travel all over the U.S. and parts of world. These experiences changed how she viewed colors, pattens, textures and furnishings to create a unique style and perhaps a retreat... your own little part of Europe. She currently resides in Palm Beach, Florida with her husband, four children and fur babies Tank (frenchie) and Jingles (Bichon/Havanese).
