Reproduction Hepplewhite Shield Back Chair has been taken apart, reupholstered in a purple crushed velvet. New screws were put in and the bolts tightened as they were loose before refinishing. The paint and glaze finish highlights the intentional imperfection in the chair like the faux worm holes. The carved details are highlighted further by the application of pearlescent paint.

As a Designer and Decorative Artist, I have always had a passion for vintage pieces and antiques. I've been painting and making things beautiful since childhood. My first memory of refinishing a dresser, I was about 7 years old, my mom and I curb shopped and saved a mid-century mod dresser and she still has it. I was hooked! My Dad was a carpenter who encouraged and taught me to use the tools in our garage which led me to be a D.I.Y.er with many years of experience and 2 paint certifications, one from Valspar Corp. as a Faux Expert certified in Faux and Decorative paints (2009). The Second is from Amy Howard certified in Old World Finishes (2022). In the past I have designed kitchens and baths, created custom wall finishes for clients as well as refinishing furniture. I come from a long line of Makers so I create jewelry and other things but my passion is furniture. These furniture pieces are my Legacy! I put so much love, care, and creativity into them to make them special for you so that you can enjoy them for years to come and continue to pass them along.
