We purchased this piece from the niece of the original owner. Since it was custom made by a cabinet maker, we think it was made in the 1950's. This is a custom made buffet by a cabinet maker. None like this one. There is so much detail on this beauty. The top has rope trim. Each corner and front has stunning, detailed pillar trim. The bottom has a lace like trim with vines in it. There was no expense or detail spared on this gorgeous piece of furniture. The restoration work was timely. The piece was stained in a brown/burgundy stain and cleared with a glossy finish. It did not meet today’s standards of excellence in style. We could have stained it but that would not give us the “Statement” that we were looking for. The drawers had to be refit by John and he also added new sliders. The drawers slide like butter. This is a massive buffet 71X36X20 Every detail of restoration was applied to the wood. The finish is from Benjamin Moore, using high end Scuff X, Edgecomb Gray in a satin. Painted outside, inside and even the back. New hardware was purchased and sprayed in a gold tone. Each piece of trim was embellished with Hand Painted Modern Masters Gold tone satin paint and was precisely applied by finger strokes. This piece is timeless and breathtaking.
