This might be one of my favorite pieces ever!  It is almost impossible to capture how beautiful this finish is in a photo.  It has the perfect aged patina using authentic milk paints and is completely smooth to the touch.  The finish acts as a  great neutral-a balanced Taupe.  I have put this next to nearly every color and it looks stunning.   Original locks and reproduction keys.  It has 4 shelves that are removable.  Also has a large bottom locking drawer.  The top pediment is removable but this is truly my favorite part of this statement piece.  The gold has been antiqued to add a soft, muted tone.  This could be used in so many areas of the home! The gentlemen I purchased this from told the story about how his great grandfather had this brought over in a boat across the Chesapeake Bay during the Civil War.  He had no family members to leave this piece of history to so he decided to find a new home in hopes someone would love it as his family has done for the last 160 years. It has been restored so it can be loved for another century!

About Seller

From a young age, I have had a love for textiles and old world furniture finishes with patinas that can set the tone for an entire space.  I firmly believe that your home should be a sanctuary, but many years ago I found myself a single mom with two young children. Being able to create a beautiful space for myself and my family was a challenge when working with small budgets, so I turned to painting. Turning old, forgotten furniture into classic pieces with beautiful finishes quickly became a passion.  It also became a motto for our household...see the good and the potential in all things. Although painted vintage/antique furniture in neutral shades makes my heart happy, I love mixing it with natural wood tones to add warmth and create balance.  I don't necessarily have a favorite style, but rather I am drawn to pieces that have unique details: hidden drawers, fabulous hardware, wood escutcheons, ornate trim work, etc. I hope you enjoy the love that has been put into each of my pieces!
