Details

A Victorian style buffet sideboard. The rectangular molded top with a detachable painted scroll and leaf carved rear rail, below are four short drawers with dovetail construction, and a scroll carved apron, raised on cabriole legs with fan carved knees and joined by an under tier and with carved claw and ball feet. This piece is of good quality. It is probably mahogany or walnut and now dawns the painted finish. This piece is eclectic in its design which is associated with Victorian period furnishings. It shares some details seen in Chippendale and early nineteenth century furniture. The sideboard was painted using Amy Howard One Step paint in the color Manor Gate. The wood top was stained using Amy Howard Gel Stain in Hazel Mahogany and sealed with Amy Howard Matte Sealer. Also note that the backboard is removable. The lock remains to maintain the historical value of this piece and does not function.

About Seller

I am an artist with a love for refinishing and redesigning furniture and decorative pieces. Sometimes that takes me into Old World finishes, into Traditional, Boho or Contemporary, and others. It is therapeutic giving something new life. When refinishing furniture, remaining disciplined is the goal, but sometimes the piece just takes me where it wants to go. I'm a proud Texan born and raised, and have a love of historical things and art. When not working, I study or play with my three dogs.
