My husband and I have always loved antique and vintage items. As my kids married and the military moved them away, I wanted a job that would allow me to travel and be with them during special times like the birth of my grandbabies. So I quit my 9 to 5 job and pursued redeeming furniture. I love catching a vision of how a worn out piece of furniture can be turned into a gem with just a little loving. Upcycling Radio Flyer wagons, trunks,or vintage doors into one of a kind pieces is a passion. Over the years, I have grown in my skill but acknowledge that there is still more to learn so I am continually learning new techniques. My style definitely leans toward preserving as much of the original character as possible and using paint techniques to disguise the damage or enhance unique features.
The word redeem means to compensate for the faults or bad aspects of something. So in light of the fact that I am making things look new again, I chose the name Creations Redeemed as it appropriately described my heart for this business as well as reflects me as a child of God.
I redeem my furniture with Wise Owl Paint products. Their furniture salve, which I use on every piece, drew me to the company. Upon some investigating I began to discover the quality as well as the environmentally friendly nature of their products and I was sold.
